Producers included farms from across the state, beef and bison, veal, turkeys, and goat meats. Cheese
producers from Cherry Glen and Caprikorn were there. The Wye Mill was representing. There were several
reps from our Buy Local folks including Rita Calvert, who also teaches "green" cooking. We
also met up with Kilby Ice Cream.
We also talked with chefs from Baltimore, Annapolis and D.C.
and interestingly, with people working to set up delivery and distribution between the farms and the restaurants — a
much-needed service. It was quite a success. For more, including a Buyer-Grower directory, visit MarylandsBest.net.
Craig Sewell, from A Cook's Cafe, who promotes the buy-local movement, catered the event.
